Our team had a fantastic experience recording at this studio. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to introduce us to the space and equipment so we felt fully comfortable before starting. The reception area and garden made it easy to have relaxed discussions with the team before and after recording. A professional yet warm environment which I’d happily recommend to anyone.

The team at West Digital made the podcast experience great. They are super welcoming and professional creating a really inviting atmosphere. I have thoroughly enjoyed filming with them and will continue to do so for future podcast sessions!

Christina Tsangaris Assistant, Directors Guild UK

A fantastic studio, run brilliantly from top to bottom. We had a big interview and needed a studio in West London, and you’re always taking a chance with a new location, but could not have asked for more. Very helpful staff, superb visuals, brilliant sound (and engineer), and quality layout. Highly recommended.

Producer Portal

Time is precious - don’t waste it.

Most studios hand over your recorded files at the end of the day, which is when the work starts for you. Organising, synching, transcribing, it  all adds up to a lot of extra hours before an editor can even make a start.

At WD Studios, while you record, use the portal to drop a marker. Maybe “Needs checking by legal.” “Good for socials.” “Pickup required.” Each one carries your comment and your name, visible to everyone including remote members of the team.. Remote viewers can talk to the gallery or to the host.

Fifteen minutes after a one-hour record ends. The Producer’s Portal contains rushes, and a Premiere or Resolve multicam project with every marker already on the timeline.

If your editor’s ready, they start there. If not, you can keep working in the portal where there’s a full transcript with chapter points. Highlight text to make a cut and press play to see it actioned.

This super fast turnaround is an obvious benefit. Your editor having more time to create the fully finished product is the cherry on the cake.

Working with us

Built for shows, not sessions

Twenty-four years in the same building,  it’s as much about change as it is consistency. Some clients have been with us a decade, some of the staff even longer, and we’re proud to say that people who moved on years ago regularly come back to visit.

Our enthusiasm for your project isn’t reliant on how long we’ve known you, what drives us is that we want you to come back again and again. It’s why someone can ring on a Wednesday wanting a whole new look for a Thursday record  and we make it happen. People tell us it’s not the kit they stay for, it’s the way we get things done.

Podcasts come in all shapes and sizes. The series that you can rely on to have the same set up with the correct branding, it could be a single piece to camera or an in depth chat that lets you in to someone’s world.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a podcast studio at West Digital Studios?

Ours start at £70 an hour plus VAT for audio-only, and rise depending on the room, the number of cameras and whether you want a technician. Series bookings are priced differently — talk to us.

Can I watch and direct the recording if I'm not there?

Yes. Producer Portal lets you watch live from anywhere, log as it happens, and talk back either to the studio floor or directly into the talent’s ears.

How quickly do I get my files?

HD ISOs are available fifteen minutes after you stop recording, along with a Premiere or Resolve project containing any markers you added during the session.

Do you record video podcasts as well as audio?

Most of what we record is video. Studio One runs five cameras with a UHD video wall behind the desk; the podcast studio does up to three.

Can you record a podcast in front of a live audience?

Yes — we have a 48-seat podcast theatre in the same building, with multi-camera capture and live streaming.

Where exactly are you, and is there parking?

59 Goldhawk Road, W12 8EG, two minutes' walk from Goldhawk Road station. There is no parking on site, but the station is close enough that most people come by tube.

Do you edit as well as record?

Yes. We are a broadcast post-production facility as well as a studio, so editing, colour, audio finishing and delivery all happen in the same building.
