Creating content for the video wall
The Media Wall
Studio One’s media wall comprises five 65-inch QLED screens in portrait orientation, driven by software that renders them as a single seamless display. The result is a 5,400-pixel-wide backdrop that’s fully customisable — from branded environments and motion graphics to immersive visual landscapes.
To get the best from the wall, the following guidance will help you prepare content that looks exceptional on screen.
Creating Content That Works
The media wall sits behind your talent and acts as part of the set, so content should complement the foreground rather than compete with it.
- Use slow-moving or static footage. Gentle motion reads beautifully at this scale.
- Avoid fast pans. Rapid lateral movement is distracting on a display this wide.
- Source in 4K or higher. The wall’s native horizontal resolution exceeds standard 4K, so higher-resolution source material will always look better.
- Use clean, grain-free material. Noise is amplified at large sizes — denoised footage is perfectly acceptable.
- Consider the light. The media wall functions as a light source for the room. If your content cuts between daylight and night-time scenes, this will affect the ambient lighting on your talent — plan accordingly.
Playback
We use OBS Studio to manage content playback, which allows us to queue and switch between different scenes during your recording session. We can also cue graphics or video playback for your talent to interact with.
